  1. Am I only one thinking, that Robin and Boothill are OP right now (I pray that they’ll be nerfed)?
    Robin with Topaz, Aventurine and Ratio can deal tones of damage, if you do good rotations with their ultimates, while providing pretty solid buffs.
    Hoothill damage is quite OP in general rn.

  2. The Harmony TB is a Kafka for a break damage team. They allows force proc of break damage on an already broken enemy, thus an enabler of break damage. Without them a break damage team can barely be good, not even with Ruan Mei due to her ability to delay the recovery of toughness bar being counterproductive because a break damage team wants to proc the next chunk of break damage as soon as possible.

    They also deals a massive toughness damage by their skill. Welt’s skill is a 3-hit bounce that deals 30 tooughness damage for each hit. Asta’s skill is a 5-hit bounce that deals 30 toughness damage for the initial hit and 15 toughness damage for each hit after it. Assuming the Harmony TB’s 5-hit bounce skill does the same toughness damage as Asta’s, since the first hit does double toughness damage by a trace and the skill has 2 more hits by an eidolon, the skill deals a whopping 150 toughness damage in total.

    They don’t give any atk%, damage amp, or anything you expect from a common Harmony unit, because a break damage team does not need that. Break damage is not affected by atk% or damage amp and can’t crit. It’s just like you shouldn’t expect Kafka to give any crit rate or crit damage to the team. That’s not what she’s made for.

    The Harmony TB’s real issue is the absence of a good break damage DPS. Without that, they will be playable but can barely be competitive. This is exactly the issue that Kafka had before the release of Black Swan. However, you don’t have to wait for half a year this time. The Harmony TB comes with Boothill, the first real break damage DPS that is absolutely broken. He is relatively independant to weakness due to his innate Silver Wolf and deals tons of break damage in ease when teamed with the Harmony TB. If you don’t like him enough and want to skip him, no worry, given Sam’s early kit also contains fire weakness implant, it is assumable that more break damage DPS will come in the future.

    • I think I will try and experiment with a break effect team that utilises Xueyi given how well she scales off Break Effect. Harmony TB might make it possible to replace a Break Effect relic on her with ATK% as the bonus damage she deals caps at 240% Break Effect. I will certainly try and go for Sam as well.

  3. When will they release Siobhan as a playable character? She already looks like a fleshed out NPC that looks like the rest of the playable cast. I’m guessing she’s a 4* Quantum character.

    • She’s kinda got the “La Signora” problem. She has a beautiful and texturally detailed model, sure, but the shape and design elements straight up do not match up with the “rules” for playable character designs. And even if you ignore the fact that most of her model textures are flat and not properly modeled, the biggest dead giveaways that she’s not going to be playable are the generic halo shape (Robin and Sunday have unique halos), no visually interesting design elements on her back, and no flowy/bouncy bits of clothing anywhere on her outfit (like some character’s sleeves, capes, or stuff that little yellow strap on the Trailblazers’ jackets). If that doesn’t convince you, just look at Cocolia, proof that having properly detailed model doesn’t guarantee playability.

      But who knows? The Hoyoverse team for HSR might respond well to player feedback on Siobahn and make her a 4-star, who I could see running as a Quantum on either Nihility or Erudition.

    • most like to be 2nd half with Boothill’s Sig by looking at the pattern.
      most new lightcones will now have been on the 2nd half of the patch and new charaters have been on the first half.
      also, the first character that gets dripmarketed is usually in the first half.

      all just my own thoughts so i might just be wrong but at least it will give you something to look forward at 😛

    Got Gepard on the standard banner today using clockie tickets.
    Is he worth building? Wondering because if he’s good enough, aventurine can be a skip for now.

    My only concern is his shields are gated behind his ult. Is it reliable enough if I use speed boots/ERR rope? Specifically, do I need to skill constantly with that kind of setup?

    Considering using him with the triple mommy dot team when shielding is more ideal than healing. Other sustains I have are Lynx E3 (paired with Clara/QQ teams), Gallagher E2 (current healer) and Natasha E0 (benched forever…)

    • for me gepard is good enough shielder for my acc but aventurine might the stronger shielder compared of the two

      like you said gepard shield is gatekeeped on his ult while aventurine is not (also aventurine have stackable shields) however the shield value of gepard vs full stacked aventurine shield is barely noticeable (gepard on 45% def + 600 vs aventurine on (24% def + 320)*2 )
      doing some quick cals if you have 3k def then gepard on 1950 while aventurine on 2080 at full stack (correct me if im wrong on this cal)

      so take your pick if you want a just a shield or more than just shield bot since aventurine also does quite a small bit of dmg like fu xuan ult

    • I used Gepard regularly and he does his job fine. His shield is pretty strong and his boosted aggro comes handy. I play him with Landau’s Choice but I’ll swap to Cosmic Market when I’ll use him with Acheron.

      I play him with speed boosts and ERR rope (4p Knight and 2p Belobog) and I get my burst fast enough to cycle it. I rarely use his skill, basic attack + getting hit is usually enough to get the burst back. Geppou usually is fully SP positive .:)
      I use skill only when : Emergency needs of a little bit of energy before a strong boss move / I have tons of skill points and I can try to freeze the opponent / I can break the ennemy T-bar / the opponent is Sam.

      I don’t feel the need for Aventurine, even if I know Aventurine shields nearly the same and deals damage that Gepard doesn’t.

      Only real drawback is against CC heavy ennemy, I prefer FuXuan or Lynx, my other defensive options. (and soon E2 Gallagher when I’ll farm for lvl and trace)

      Sadly, I rarely use my Nat outside overworld… =( March 7th saw a niche in PF to protect Himeko + AoE ice break, pretty cool imo =3

    • Gepard is good enough to be worth built. However he is nowhere comparable against Aventurine. Gepard relies on his ultimate to replenish his shield and to reset the expiration timer. You must fine tune his speed and ERR or his shields may expire, leaving a short window of time when the enemies get to take your team’s HP away that you will probably not be able to make up of. Meanwhile, Aventurine may do so by FUA and sometimes by recasing his shield if needed, he doesn’t need any speed or ERR in order to keep his shields 100% up time. This also frees up speed boots and ERR rope for Aventurine, allowing a higher potential in defense stats than Gepard. Not to mention the fact that Aventurine does considerable amount of damage and breaks Imaginary weak enemies’ toughness bar reasonably fast.

      • If you plan to build a “Trends of the Universal Market” carrier for Acheron then Gepard is a good choice, probably even better than Aventurine, because Gepard has high passive aggro that is light cone independent and nobody else has the same. Another good choice is Fire Trialblazer, who has active taunt that nobody else has either, but isn’t as good as Gepard in terms of sustaining.

        • I’m actually skipping Acheron but that is a good point.
          Probably will just use Gepard since it doesn’t look like there is another new 5* preservation unit coming anytime soon that would change things substantially.

    • He’s solid enough. Of course, since he isn’t a limited unit, so he ain’t that crazy in comparison to Fu Xuan and the upcoming Aventurine, but I used him against Sam with a subpar build and he was enough to sustain my team the whole fight. His aggro helps with regenerating his energy and he’s currently the best sustainer for someone like Acheron or even Ratio with Trend LC because he can sustain well enough while being more likely to provide out of turn debuffs due to his aggro being higher than Aventurine and Fu Xuan.

      PMC is the only unit that has more aggro than him, but he ain’t that great at sustaining in MoC unless you have crazy defense on him/her. PMC is only better than Gepard in PF.

    • nihility is thy one and only true path. Reason I got Kafka and her lc on my first 10x, silver wolf lc on my first 10x also, and lastly I got e1 black swan and her lc without saving.

      • the idea of follow up attacks and a second toughness bar seemed interesting (not very good with numbers and multipliers, and english too lol) i could see working with xinyun, but this just look, to me, the same as a buff you could get from artifact set or light cone

      • Ye it’s good. Previous require to break additional stamina bar to trigger bonus break damage that can be done only with good DPS that have high stamina drain ability, current can do the same but with simple hit by any unit. Even Gallagher, healer together with MC can deal 50k with every attack against break enemy. It’s not high damage, but it’s can be multiply by any team member with high break effect potential and overall team damage will be huge.

  7. Some things I want to clear up:

    IMAGINARY TB DOES NOT LET YOUR TEAM DO 100% BREAK DMG.

    The kit mentions that it scales off break effect and the attack’s toughness break. This means that the more your ability would have done to the toughness, the more damage this does.

    The weakness break multiplier used by all initial weakness break is this:

    0.5+ (Enemy Toughness)/120

    An elite has about 360 toughness on average with bosses having about 480. This means that on a boss you would have a additional multiplier of around 3.5-4.5.

    How Imaginary TB’s kit works is that instead of considering the enemy’s total weakness, it considers your own, so without buffs:

    Basic: 30 toughness, multiplier of 0.75
    Skill: 60 toughness, multiplier of 1

    This was proved via a leaker gameplay clip in which robin only did around 7000 break damage, whereas if it was a full break it would have done way more. In general you would only do about 1/4 of your normal damage using imaginary trailblazer’s buff.

    Some other things to note: This damage is initial break, so it scales best with Fire and Physical which have a 2x additional multiplier, and is worst with quantum and imaginary which has a 0.5x initial multiple.

    So what imaginary trailblazer actually provides is about a 60% BE increase with e4 and the ability to recur INITIAL WEAKNESS BREAK DMG if you have high weakness break efficiency.

    Some characters this actually synergizes with:

    1. Ruan Mei, not because she can do a lot of damage with this but Ruan Mei enables your break carry to do a lot of damage with this
    2. Gallagher, he has really good weakness break efficiency (which is what the damage scales on) and can self buff with his debuff. Plus he is fire which is one of the 2 best elements to be.
    3. Boothil, do I even need to explain more? From primary calculations I have done his damage is about a 5050 split of break and non-break damage, so break effect and additional break damage is good for him.
    4. Sushang, she has high break efficiency and this makes the break effect hybrid build more viable

    Characters that really don’t work:

    Xueyi: Xueyi, unlike Boothil, is actually just a normal DPS with break effect scaling. If you want to bring Xueyi to a high level it is much more efficient to focus on her normal damage rather than waiting for the entanglement. With the addition that TB only procs initial break damage which quantum is not advantageous in, I would not recommend this combination.

    Any quantum or imaginary character: The initial break scaling is just too bad to consider.

  8. I know it’s early to say but… harmony trailblazer looks not great. Only has synergy with a small handful of units, none of whom share the same damage type, and has several abilities that will only ever proc once per battle. I know tb is only nominally a 5* unit, but they don’t compare well even against the 4* harmony unit at e0 imo. Hoping it’s still a WIP.

    • you got some point but look at this like topaz and kadka the more fua character or dot characters release the better they will get so as more break effect characters will release the better mc will get. at the least they are an amazing support for broothill

    • Ruan Mei deal 50k against elites with her break. How under MC ult buff she can deal it with basic attack and maybe even more since some Trailblaze traces will buff this damage. Just imagen 60-70k for harmony unit with basic attack. There still problem to break enemy toughness, but any 4 star dps with proper element can do this for few turn’s and if you have Xueyi or Silver Wolf it’s will be even more easy. And if you don’t have Ruan Mei there will be Gallager 4-star healer that scales with break effect and can be clamed for free during event.

    • In my opinion IMG TB is really niche rn, but that is good. Although they only work in a few teams, in the teams they do work in they are really good. I would much rather have a niche 4* support than another asta or hanya where they can work in a lot of teams but aren’t the best in any of them
