  1. You guys kinda forgetting that DoT actually scales off of Break Effect a decent bit, so possibly good in a Kafka DoT team.

Not even that, Break Effect Sushang (if you have her E4) will benefit from this character right away, and even if she’s not the strongest of the strongest, she has potential especially with Imaginary MC.

    • Even if we agree that enemy has both electric and wind vul, dots from break still last one turn (and it takes two or three turns to break the elite enemy with classic Kafka BS), BE’s actual buff will have tiny uptime and you’ll lose at ton of atk and speed from asta or a ton of… well, everything from Slutan Mei. So it’s a really, really bad idea, cause Asta is just better, giving the third dot, atk and speed.

      • it’s 2 turns for break dots for lightning, wind and fire, initial break delay plus recover. you can retrigger them the turn they recover but with HTB’s break delay stacking on, you might get more turns to retrigger. I know Buraly mentioned sushangs viability for break, but sampo, luka, and kafka will also take advantange of it.

in the situation of a WL weak enemy most players are nor going to focus on breaking only. BS does waaaaaay too much dmg with her kit alone that BE would be redundant. E4 sampo in the same situation would work better for the break playstyle since he can retrigger and do more toughness dmg.

HTB alone doesn’t provide the buffs needed in between breaks, but if you going for that playstyle, just hypercarry the dot breaker. Both Sampo and Luka have shown they’re capable of doing so for the longest.

  3. Igive you a challenge.
If you really think you can play with a team full of four stars in late game content, find someone or do yourself the following:
In the most beginning (I mean, on first minutes, to make sure you made less than a billion attempts)of the next abyss make two teams of ONLY four star characters with total crit mass on a single character less than 250 and without legendary LCs (despite the ones you get for free) and complete the abyss fully without, for example, more than five retries overall. Yeah, you may say “but I must get used to enemies, calculate the elements, etc!”, but you can do it all while theorycrafting. All the characters may be e6. And even if you somehow succeed, try to do the same with your four five star teams. And compare how much effort it takes in both cases.
I think to understand this game’s “balance”, everybody should try to play without 5* utility and op supports. Any YouTuber who says this game is fairly balanced should try it too. Pick fire trailblazer instead of your Fu Xuan and Lynx instead of your huo and you’ll suddenly feel how clunky and unpleasant to play this game becomes, how every second enemy deletes half of your HP with one punch and you can do nothing about it, a despair when the boss uses strong attack on the first action and finishes your core with the second, yeah, try it, you, living in illusion of balance, where “four stars are strong”, “Old characters are meta”, and “Powercreep doesn’t exist”.

        • You’re not entirely wron but this is only a problem for new players, people who have played the game since early patches should have figured out soon enough that newer enemies would quickly start becoming problematic and that 1.0 healers weren’t provided with any form of anti CC or consistent healing/shielding.

If you decided to skip Luocha, Fu Xuan, Huo Huo and now Aventurine, while playing the game to complete high difficulty content, your decision making as a player is just straight up awful, and the same applies for supports. Ruan Mei was pretty much a necessity for DOTs and FUAs dual-dps comps considering how uncomfortable characters like Asta are, but she revealed to be a free slot for most hypercarry comps too , while I don’t think that E0 Sparkle is really that gamebreaking of a support.

On a side note, what were you even trying to say mentioning Topaz? We’re all perfectly aware of the fact that she’s not that great of a DMG dealer as of now due to lack of relic options (4PC is not even close to other 4PC) and that most of her support (and some of her damage) potential is walled behind E1 and sig. LC, but she can easily deal with MoC as long as your comps aren’t dogsh*t.

What I’m understanding from your messages is that you’re simply not okay with the game not allowing you to complete everything after making sh*ttons of awful decisions and not being able to create any kind of teamcomp, but I seriously don’t understand how this is supposed to make any sense, what game allows you to do that?

  4. I think this is decent for a free character that everyone has to work with the upcoming break effect based units in Sam and Boothill.

Probably there to support Sam and Boothill and then they release a 5* limited char that does what TB does but much better later (Sunday possibly)

maybe he will be underwhelming on release but when more and more break effect damage dealers will release he will become better and better

  5. Ult allows 2 more break effects to be processed, is that too much? Imagine Ruan Mei, Boothill, Gallagher hitting the enemy with 2 more break effects, how big the damage would be. If Trailblazer’s Ult also allows allies to activate virtual and quantum number action delay. I can imagine a great scenario for the team. Hope I’m wrong

Seems like he is as niche or even more than Yukong and Hanya.

  7. Img is one of the strongest elements right now. All the players have Ratio so IMG breaker unit is not necessary for most of us. And… He’s weak. Right now we have no DPS who wants to deal damage with break. Even with (slut)an mei it’s too inconsistent and weak, and this hero is not the one who’s gonna resurrect the concept. I hoped he’ll give the team break efficiency to at least try to compensate lacking of RM on f2p accounts, but no, he’s just nothing compared to other supports.
And yes, he has absolute zero direct damage buffs, which means even if here is a couple “break” DPSes, on others he is completely useless.
His best things are his E (just asta-like breaking button) and break effect sharing (still don’t know who needs it). Maybe you’ll be able to use him in Sam/butthill packs, to increase “RM’s damage (cringe alert), but for me it’s disgusting. “Free character”, you say? Dendro MC moment.

      • A lot of his damage comes from his break damage, and considering this Trailblazer’s ult allows you to deal additional break damage on every single attack to a weakness broken enemy, I really don’t see why you wouldn’t run him with Boothill. The way I see it HTB enables a new archetype of team/character (break damage team/DPS) to work, and there will be definitely be more characters for it down the line.

      • Shushang will like this a lot, after breaking an enemy she can go bananas on them. any character can work with HTB if you take them into the right fight.
XueYi and Acheron can benefit from HTB because they ignore weakness types.
Clara can benefit quite a bit because she does a lot of free damage because of how she works.
March 7th can use this, having her deal some free damage is nice.
Aventurine has a lot of free attacks he does with a lot of bonus damage now.
Pretty much every Erudition character put against the right weakness will do tons of extra damage.
Instead of giving buffs, HTB will deal the damage themself, making it so that, if you have another character that buffs multiple characters ( Huohuo, Ruan Mei, Robin, Asta, YuKong, Bronya ult and Sparkle talent ) it will get double the effectiveness. almost like having 2 dps but only one needs to attack to get both the damage instances.

HTB also makes teambuilding a bit different only because they act like a sub-DPS but tied to the main dps more then relying on themselves to attack and deal damage.

There are of course Best in slot characters and even if they are not on that team , doesn’t mean the team is strictly bad. put a little thought in it and it will work.
Also, if a character looks bad on release, doesn’t mean they are bad, they can age like wine like Topaz. She is getting so much value now because of the follow-up attack archetype getting love and so will break effect.

          • Little change again, in the heat of passion of reading everything, i mistook robins ult, the part that deals damage based on her attack, for a part of HTB ult kit. Doesn’t change a huge amount but it does change the part where HTB deals the break damage with is a bit of a damage reduction over all but i am pretty sure i read everything CORRECTLY now XD.

    • Cool your head. There are many characters that would be perfect for this unit. For example Xueyi, whose damage is scaled through the break effect and she can easily reduce stamina of any enemy with her ult. Ruan Mei paired with MC will be able to deal tens of thousands of damage just by using a basic attack under the buff of her ult. Finally Gallagher, who gets an extra action after his ult and can very quickly deal up to three attacks, each of which will generate a huge amount of damage. And this only few most valid option, but any unit can take place in team with this version of MC, since break effect don’t have such hard requiremnts as crit damage and can by used by any one who can effectivle drain enemy stamina and have relics with high break effect stats on it.

      • Xuei… Sushang… Gallahar… Are you freaking serious? Even with him they will never enter the level of classic crit five stars (especially after Robin’s release.) RM? Funny to hear. She’s already built in break and her damage is around zero because of poor scaling , MC will change nothing here. His only hope is mister cowboy and maybe Sam (plus some future DPSes), but he’ll still lose to most other harmonies, providing hoyo’s favourite buff- straight damage boost. Even as break-related support he loses to RM in every. single. way.

        BRUH.
4* DPSes in this game will never become even comparable to 5*. The only deviation is QQ, but I think it’s just one of head developers hs a crush on her, because she was directly and strongly buffed for a long time. Xuei may become better (better than “trash tier”, but surely won’t grow high. Sushang is trash and you can do nothing about it. She has no direct break scaling. And gallahar is funny because he just can’t maintain sustain for your team, so he’s a trash and you can do nothing about it.

        • If your Gallagher can’t maintain sustain, you just built him poorly and that is on you. And oh no, obviously the 4* DPS characters (-QQ) won’t match the 5* ones, but who cares because the game isn’t hard enough to NEED 5* half the time. I see so many people clear the game with 4* units so it really doesn’t matter. All the extra damage he enables is nice. End of story. Yeah he’s not a phenomenal buffer, but he’s fine. Also love you calling Ruan Mei’s damage bad when it isn’t even the point of her kit. Its how many buffs she has that is what makes her good. The damage is just a nice bonus.
