I think E1 to A2 is actually a HUGE buff, it opens much more build potential for her, not only for NIhility characters but for Shield breakers with Break effect, Its probably one of the reasons why they remove her break effect in the first place, so she couldn’t abuse DoT + Break Effect by herself.
Break effect and their DoTs are very underused right now but i can asure that with Kafka they will become much more popular, there are a lot of characters that can use the Break Effect set, one of those character is Silver Wolf which funnily enough she also buffs DoT teams considerably.
The only problems with these teams is that you have to plan turn order and shield bar but i think it may be worth it. Just imagine, kafka can reapply DoT break effect with Skill and Burst without removing their turn duration and without Kafka herself needing to go full break.
Now we don’t need to run for E1…. NICE DESU
Wait, they moved her E1 into an A2 trace? That makes her so much more fun to build around. Thank you daddy Hoyo.
How are we supposed to build her? (sorry I am really dumb)
ATK and ATK and a bit more ATK
Kafka herself only deals DoT (the thing she buffs) by breaking weakness, or her ult, so you want atk and probably ER (enough to get it up about every 2 turns). her ult DoT scales with attack remarkably well (178% at lvl 6 and a little over 200% at 7). most of her damage will come from her skill depending on how many high damage DoTs you can place. (IE: if you have 2 other high-damage DoT setters she could be terribly built and still smack someone into the ground. Wind dots have a nice stacking mechanic, meanwhile, ice, imaginary, and quantum can steal the break dot, which while sub-optimal since break dots deal a lot of damage, isn’t a deal breaker, especially since their stalling ability will allow Kafka to still proc dots while perma stunning.) there will be about 3 other dedicated DoT spammers when she comes out, Serval and Sampo currently, and Luka presumably on her banner if not the banner before/after. SW can be helpful to sometimes add electro weakness or decrease electro res further (even if she adds quantum and breaks, you can also rely on having one other DoT setter like Sampo or Serval to still have multi Dots to proc maybe 2 or 3 times (assuming your not suicidal and take an abundance or preservation character in your team, otherwise triple DoT and buffer, or quad DoT). since her old E1 became her A2 trace she isn’t elemental picky. (also yes she will be fun in SU with Nihility path action)
TLDR: Attack, with probably ER and speed substats. for pretty much everything. You will want/need to also build either a breaker or a different Dedicated DoT user decently built as well to take advantage of her play style. You could invest a lot into speed to try and just spam her E as much as possible with a high-damage DoT user.
thanks. I don’t have sampo but have serval. so if luka is in her banner, I can go kafka, luka, natasha and serval? and what if luka is not in her banner? and as for relics, should I use 4pc lightning one? Thanks again.
How is this character going to compete with crit DPS without e2s1?
She looks good, but her skill set makes her work absolutely badly with any debuffers and buffers. Why? Because she doesn’t have crits, and DoTs scale much worse from all sorts of buffs, because their base damage is MUCH lower. At the same time, she wants to collect a lot of chance to hit effects even with her trace. You will need to score about 40-50% of the hit for everything to be stable, and her teammates want to score one and a half times more, which leads to the loss of break effect and atk and, accordingly, reduced penetration damage, penetration DoT and reduced damage of DoTs imposed by the skill.
She also suffers a lot from enemies without electro vulnerability, even with the above disadvantages. She will be SIGNIFICANTLY weaker. She also suffers greatly from enemies with electric protection, because they also have protection from DoT, although not 100%, but quite large.
She may not be bad, but any hypercarry with E0S1 will be better than her with the right squad. So it will also not depend on the desired vulnerability. People have too many hopes and COPIUM for this character, and content makers amuse me the most.
In her current state and taking into account her teammates, only SW can pull her out, otherwise she should be deservedly in the A-tier, no higher. Other characters are slightly more expensive, but also give much more than her.
With Sampo and Luka she does like 20k every E thats how she competes
Yes, I think I’ve heard something like that before… immediately after the appearance of Dendro:
How will they compete with crit.DPS and direct reactions? How will they balance EM and Crit? C0 Ganyu with free support can defeat any 5* squads with Dendro…
These comments are still preserved on the site.
And what about the result?
Where is that Ganyu now – at the very bottom of tier lists, the weakest of the strongest, a character whose sales are below Dehya.
What about Dendro? Dendro is the fastest and easiest way to get 36* and belonging to this element itself is considered an advantage.
It was a small digression on the topic of how some of the commentators are afraid and hate the new.
The opinion about Kafka’s damage is not taken from the fantasies and hopes of the players, but based on its damage from the pre-release beta test. Even then, she was at least a solid S tire.
At the same time, Seele and general did not receive buffs (moreover, part of general’s damage was moved to his LC), but Kafka just got a good buff.
On the beta test, she didn’t have good damage, but I remind you that after the beta, the DoT mechanic and breaking through the vulnerability received more than 20% nerf, lol.
Dendro and Kafka are completely different things, and even if Kafka looks like Nahida, it still has a fairly fast-reaching ceiling. I have already seen a lot of Seele and JY, who only with LC and disgusting leveling of both artifacts, both talents and level, gave out a lot of damage. Can Kafka do this? Apparently not, because her potential is heavily hidden behind E1 and E2, look at them for yourself. The only thing that can save her is Serval, and that is thanks to the infinite extension of the DoT from breaking through the vulnerability, because he is much stronger than the others, lol. Also, do not forget that it is KAFKA who wants to break through the vulnerability and the serval will serve as a character with great speed and an ER rope to keep up the ult at all times. And, of course, as I said – Kafka becomes much weaker if the character does not have the necessary vulnerability, unlike JY and Seele and future characters. And believe me, you won’t want to give SW to such a character.
So believe me, this is not a dendro. The ceiling is much lower, and there really are no good DoT buffers. There are only eidolons and LCs of kafka and sampo. Good luck competing with JY and Seele with this one, especially when they get significantly more on E2S1. And looking at the leaks, you can see that the characters under DoT are not expected.
Yes, yes, of course… you make this boring doompost literally under every new character. You also wrote under Blade: “he will not be able to compete with other event DPS in this case”.
At least change the style, and do not copy your own phrases verbatim via ctrl+c / ctrl+v.
Apparently it is very difficult to read the commentator’s nickname and understand that they are different? I haven’t commented anywhere other than this page, because Kafka is the only character that has no potential due to terrible synergy with supports / debuffs, as well as too little buff from artifacts. Consider it a further dump post, but Kafka simply won’t be able to compete with any Erudition/Hunt/Destruction character, it’s just too bad.
It is a pity that it is difficult for you to understand this and you come to a comparison with Dendro. It’s a different game and the leaks say that Kafka won’t get anything but other 4* DoT characters, even other 5* Nihility characters deal with debuffs lol.
Kafka team most likely be 3 nihility DoT with one using resolution LC. Damage similar to hyperbloom for the other side lmao.
Sampo for reference.
Sampo DoT is similar to Luka and Kafka at similar level. (expect a similar mtp to the new fire nihility dot 4* lady aswell).
So their team dmg is sampo x3 at base.
Kafka exploding all their DoT with skill and burst, AoE. (almost triple the DoT instances). Sampo dmg 6x-8x.
my lv70 sampo, talent 7, with Good Night and Sleep well deal around 6k dot avg. Kafka and Luka might deal the same at similar level.
With my sampo stats, its 18k minimum from Kafka Burst or Skill dot explosion with all character and LC debuffs + The actual DoT (18k min) + Random breaks (someone will surely break something if one have eyes to look at MoC enemy draft and adapt, u got 3 great breakers from 3 different elements, shock break is actually the worst).
not counting their joined personal, non crit damage. (matters a lot yeah lmaooooo, Kafka being the crit holder might be decent).
DoT team will always have around 2-3 turn ramp up time. Kafka want to be slower than Sampo & Luka (at the start). The order doesnt matter after the DoT kicks in.
can juggle the other 2 DoT according to content when the fire lady come.
Sw can play with seele JY or Blade all day.
Who is this 4* fire lady?
She received a neutral buff and her position did not change in any way.
For me, the main damage of Kafka is in its DoT after breaking through. Luka looks like a weakened version of Kafka because his Bleed is a fake. I still don’t understand how this character can compete with classic DPS like JY and Seele. Her DoT is not very strong, and absolutely any buffer / debuffer works with her much worse than with other characters, because the increase from the reduction of defense / resistance and the increase in ATK will give an incredibly small increase due to the low damage of the DoT. She can somehow compete with them only with eidolons and her LC and ONLY in a team with Serval, endlessly stacking DoT from breaking through. Consider it E2S1, otherwise Hypercarryes will be better than her on not very large investments and only with their own LC.
People have too much COPIUM about this character. She is weak against characters without vulnerability, and her main damage is based on penetration, which is very fast only at E2.
A 373% attack ratio DoT for 2 turns is not very strong in your books ? That’s more damage than some ultimates already, and it can be buffed by her talent and some LC + the usual attack or damage buff from support characters…
373 is for level 15, which is impossible to achieve currently, you need E5 to get up to level 12, It’s reasonable to use 6 – 10 which scales from 178 to 299%, still pretty high
Call me stupid, but how it is supposed to be a nerf the latest changes Kafka got?
I understand they took away the trace that scale off break effect, but in return they are giving her previous E1 as a trace and increasing her DoTs multipliers. I think it’s better being able to trigger all DoTs every time you have ult in exchange of losing 24% scaling, which in fact it’s not that bad because they are giving extra 14% multiplier on the basic skill and +40% in the ultimate.
It isn’t a nerf and I don’t think many would claim it to be and if they are they probably think any change outside of “number go up” is a nerf lol…
In reality it’s a buff at best and a “readjustment” at worst. Kafka before was sorta split into a breaker and DoT team enabler but it seems like her latest changes have her fully walking the DoT path (Something in the main story mentioned how certain Aeon “paths” will be swallowed up by larger paths if they converge, maybe DoT potential was too big and “ate up” the Breaker potential lool) But yeah basically if you were hoping to go for BROKE (heh, “Break”, get it?) with Breaker build, then this change may be a disappointment to you (as already seen in some comments) which also means people who pulled for SW in hopes of the building an Electro Mono team with Kafka as their premier breaker took a bit of a hit.
Admittedly the breaker concept was cool and I liked the potential of it especially in an electro mono team but it essentially incentivized players who didn’t have Bailu to pull for E1 for more team capability. This is very much a welcome F2P change for many people who were looking to build her with other types than electro units like Serval. Serval is still going to be a solid unit with Kafka (even more so with Serval E2+) these changes did very little to change that. I for one who was planning on her E1 previously may now go for E2 or just pick up her personal LC if it remains the same or is better than it is currently. Hell, I might even pull for Loucha now that E0 looks much better than before.
I bet they will give nerfs for Kafka, reducing it to an average or slightly above average level, because it will sell well at the expense of fanservice anyway.
While Blade will become OP and must have (just look at his % and kit)
So they will get money from both waifu and meta. I hope I’m wrong, but knowing HoYo…
I Can just see you don’t know Hoyo xD
So you don’t know hoyo.
This is not a nerf here but a buff.
if i follow your reasoning all waifu are all bad in meta, and all husbando are summoned only because they are meta. If you think that, you definitely haven’t played the game and you underestimate kafka’s kit and the people who like husbando.
Is this what you would call a “reverse jinx”? Like you say something you don’t want to happen out into the universe in hopes that the universe in kind will prove you wrong, right? Because there is no way you can say all that you said before ending “but knowing Hoyo…” seriously… It’s like Dehya situation really had majority of ya’ll shook to the very core. Tell me I’m wrong, please, I’ll wait. Because generally speaking before that a *vast* majority of the “waifu” characters have come out the gate strong in comparison to the “husbandos” if that’s the argument you’re trying to play…
Let me say this, even if they turn down all her numbers if she is still able to pop DoT effects on her Skill and Ult, she’ll still hold value in DoT teams. I’d dare to say she may be even future proof (like Bronya for hyper carries) because if Hoyo releases more DoT centric characters in the future and they turn out to be busted, guess who enables them to be even more busted…? Kafka. In my opinion, Hoyo would have to nerf the DoT mechanic or actively dumpster on teams who utilize said mechanic, like if they tailor made enemies to be stronger against those strategies (like Genshin has done before with Shields and Freeze comps)
So… nerfs have already started? Goodbye Break, goodbye game paired with Serval
she literally got buffed so hard what are u on lmao
Don’t be hard on them. Sometimes when words pile up, comprehension takes its toll.
So far, she has rather received a buff, although the synergy with Serval has really become worse
They killed Break Effect Kafka, im so sad
Shes probably a lot better now, but I really wanted to nuke someone by breaking with her E
sadge
Same, I can’t believe it. While I’m happy her old E1 replaced the break trace effect, serval kafka seems more inferior to sampo kafka now. Maybe the skill is going to be added to a signature light cone? :/
Yeah she should be better now, in fact I think she is very strong.
Also her E1 is really good with E1 she don’t need to always pair with sampo or serval (or luka) anymore.
