Character Details | A scholar of exquisite temperament, member #81 of the illustrious Genius Society, and an expert in the field of life sciences. She earned Nous' attention with her talent and terrifying perseverance, and began her research on the origin of life in a secretive corner of the universe. Subsequently, she was invited by Herta to collaborate with Screwllum and Stephen to develop the Simulated Universe. Privately, she revels in traditional theater and desserts, and she is also very interested in embroidery. |
Character Story: Part I | During her childhood, she received early exposure to science from her mother, who was a "scientist." Her life in a tiny house with her family of science enthusiasts was filled with love. As such, it wasn't long before she realized there were subtle differences in "love," each kind coming with different scents. Her grandmother with silver hair was a fan of traditional theater with its humming and chirping, while her father wore a pair of large, furry boots. Her parents loved each other, but they still argued from time to time. She was an impassive girl who made mistakes all the time, but was also forgiven all the time. "I was closer with Aunt Arlice compared to my other relatives, as she would buy me snacks. Her love was the best." Soon, the young girl learned to be stubborn. Her understanding of "love" broke away from the formulae taught in textbooks. As she grew older, her mother became strict with her. Together, they walked one step at a time on a vast glacial planet. The girl gasped and stopped on the way, carefully observing the fantastical and enchanting "lifeforms" buried beneath the glaciers - What used to be lifeforms, at least. Every time she arrived home after going on scientific expeditions, it was time for "rewards" — When she took a small bite of the cake, the mouthwatering aroma would immediately cling to the roof of her mouth. Her insignificant anticipation always gave her mother's research an inviting smell. Starting from their home, a planet blessed by Abundance, they boarded research aircraft and set off to more worlds. Surrounded by flash bombs, silk headscarves, ribbons, and embroidery, the girl embraced joy amongst "lifeforms" created by spiraling and ascending data. "A-Ruan, after eating Qingtuan, you must wash your fingers thoroughly before you can touch the lab bench." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | She was dressed all in black in a mourning attire at her parents' funeral. As usual, she still tied her hair neatly. Her expression was hidden behind her ink-black strands of hair. She did not shed a single tear. As the night fell, layers of geometric patterns formed by data spirals appeared on the screen in the lab. They shifted, expanded, and flowed along with the sound of traditional theater songs. After peeling away the layers of the patterns, the secret she meticulously crafted and protected with care was revealed — her parents with their eyes closed. Their faces were as impassive as if they were asleep. "This is a let-down. They failed to keep their promise with Grandma." "And I, too, let them down for failing to protect them as promised." "Only science... never lets anyone down," she said. Wanting her parents to be equal, she stopped using her previous nickname and gave herself a new name by combining each of her parents' surnames. Since then, whenever someone asked her about her "home," there would be a flash of confusion in her eyes. She seems to have forgotten everything. In such a state, she started working around the clock on her calculations. She was so engrossed in her research that she never ate regularly. When she was on a roll, she could spend entire days and nights working on research without sleeping, and only dozed off when she hit her limit. Soon, she was only relying on the faint glow of fyreflies to gather her research results every night. The more dismissive she was of the existing laws of life, the quicker she progressed. She totally disregarded formulas, then moved on to ignoring the meaning of life. She simply observed, assessed with her hands, held the data in her palm to feel it, then proceeded to concoct new laws for species. As a result, the ferns and flowers in her lab flourished ever more. They grew at a speed visible to the human sight, and ultimately filled every space in the lab. In the space between the flowers and leaves laid the serene and emotionless countenance of her parents, formed by the aggregation of "data." The moment her sleeping "parents" were about to open their eyes — By then, she had nearly destroyed the existing laws of biological evolution on the entire planet, yet she still marched on toward her goal. It wasn't until she looked up from her research and stared at the sky did she notice the gaze of the Erudition had descended upon her. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | After receiving the gaze of Nous, she left her home and began a reclusive life. No one knew what she asked Nous, but after that incident, she became even more apathetic and impassive, and even more immersed in her research —She would only study the fundamental nature of "life." A greater variety of "lifeforms" came into existence through her concoction. Some "burning" lifeforms became flowing flames that crept and weaved under her feet. Sometimes, she felt like she was fire itself. Some "fluid" beings turned into liquid light that slithered around her slender wrists. Sometimes, she felt like she was light itself. Some living things concocted from "knowledge" attempted to develop their own thoughts, sentience, and emotions. They sometimes rambunctiously cry, guffaw, or wail — all these have been fused into her body. Yet, she could not feel them. Life only exists for such a short time, after all. They fleetingly pass from birth to death, and her research is the only constant. Occasionally, her casual "research" would shake the schools of biology. Her "research" transformed many planets. Flying whales, swimming deer, fearful flowers, and trees with a vast root system... Her creations have already went beyond the scope of experience and imaginations comprehensible to organic life. She kept pushing herself for a more in-depth understanding of "life," just to bring herself closer to Nous — and THEIR unforgettable glance. Aeons... What kind of beings are they? Are they also a form of life? As her "groundbreaking" studies rose to fame with in the cosmic academic community, people always tried to disrupt her life as a recluse. She turned to look at the letter from the Genius Society on the desk and, once again, dumped it into the trashcan. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | She is surrounded by an eccentric science fanatic from a small town, an inorganic lifeform, and a puppet girl. They indulge in afternoon tea and collaborate in research. They squabble loudly and giggle from time to time. When did she first meet them? She can't remember, only that it was for a project. She was forced to be there — that, she is certain. With leisure, she munches on the cake. She became a part of this solely for the sake of simulated "Aeons," which are worth her time and efforts. They are worth her time... but not worth being forced to socialize. "Genius Society? I do not care." "This is a strange, instinctive feeling. That one named 'Herta' is rather similar to me. I mean... similar on a deeper level." She is certain that she won't make another mistake. It's because she no longer trusted anyone, so she won't be let down again, and... she won't let anyone else down again. What is the fundamental essence of "life"... Where does "life" end? Do the answers really exist? Not a trace of emotion can be discerned on her emotionless and silent face. Yet, her hair is roiling with the heat of boiling and steaming, and the rims of her eyes are slightly red — she is enjoying this. Only the word "Aeon" can stir her heart. Everything else in the universe is a mere distraction. How interesting. On the "incubator," a "life" nurtured by the "rice cooker" popped out in perfection. The method with which life is created is miraculous. How romantic. She knows better than anyone the price one has to pay to study Aeons... but she does not care. She knows! She might even — become...!? The time is just right — The update for the "project" is about to commence. She turns around and leaves. Unbeknownst to the girl, her grandmother has always been watching her through the monitor, day after day for countless years. "A-Ruan... My A-Ruan. When we finally meet again, would it be...?" * Unlocked at Character Level |
396 responses to “Ruan Mei”
should I get her?
my team:
1. Kafka Sampo Luka Gepard
2. Jingliu Pela Tingyun Fuxuan
What I conclude from this comment section is that Ruan will fit more on double dps team, which in my case is kafka team, but I also want to pull Black Swan. As for Jingliu team, Ruan might be a slight upgrade or even a sidegrade (?)
My plan is: whether to get both Ruan and Black Swan OR skip Ruan and just go for E1S1 Black Swan (yea ik we still dont have any info regarding her eidolons, but based on HSR trends, I believe her E1 will be strong)
Someone pls enlighten me xD
Black Swan is rumored to be next after RM, right? If yes, then if I were you I’ll wait and see Swan’s kit first before pulling RM.
Yes.. Her kit has been leaked for quite some time (idk whether its reliable or not). Basically she’s some kind of a DoT def shredder and sub dps (if im not mistaken). If this is true, then I won’t need RM on this team, because Swan is clearly better.
I know this is too much speculation xD. I just want to decide what to prefarm for now
sheesh man we both have the same exact teams and I’ve been wondering if I should pull for mei or hanabi
xD nice to hear that..
I might consider pulling Hanabi too, depending on her kit tho.. But I dont think I’ll have any SJ to pull for her xD
Ruan Mei or Silverwolf? They both go hand in hand
SW is still really great. But as you get more and more units, the gimmick of putting additional weakness becomes less premium.
Previously we only have JY and Seele and probably some 5star standard units like Himeko, Welt, Clara or the ice kid (I forgot the name). Now and even moving forward, we already have a dps for every element, and they will just grew in numbers.
Do you have Silverwolf’s Tutorial LC? If not then Ruan Mei, because Silverwolf without her LC is difficult to build. You will miss her debuffs often and it won’t be fun.
Ruan mei , she’s more consistent imo and great in both aoe and single target battles
sw is still a great pick if you’re new to the game and don’t have many dps options , but she loses some value the more dps unites u obtain, I may self find myself using her less and less
duel dps meta let’s go ,
I was wondering how will the first limited harmony compete with bronya/tingyun , but turns out she will instead introduce a new playstyle and new type of teams , definitely an interesting character
blade or ruanmei?
party 1 kafka guin sampo luocha
party 2 jl pela bronya lynx
i think ruan mei would fit in the first team, bronya still better in team 2.
in don’t really see balde in any of those (but you can)
Kafka, Guin/Sampo, Ruan Mei, Luocha
JL, Pela, Bronya, Lynx
why hsr.honeyhunterworld.com their scale of Skill, Ultimate and Talent reach LVL 15 ? while the original game even you E6 only Maximum LVL 12. PLUS LVL 13-15 they have their number, LOL where do you get this number from? i confused
1st, all allibilities can go to level 15 ( except BA those can get up to level 9 ) for some extrange reason. This is usually thanks to events.
2nd, data miners.
Most likely In the future, there will be a set of relics that will give +1 or +2 to skills or talents, and there will also be characters that can increase the attributes of allies in a similar way. For this reason, the developers added such values to the game code.
Genshin has lv15 max talents, the highest you can go in normal gameplay is 14 (a character with NA C3 and Childe), it’s just for events that sometimes vuff talent levels
NA+3 is not possible by cons lol
I actually found the weakness breaking mechanism in the game to not be very outstanding in terms of damage. Truly outstanding commercially currently only the team ‘Luka, SW, Pela’ is currently the strongest in terms of break effects. I’m not sure if I should roll Ruan Mei just to replace Pela or not. So I see that the kit doesn’t have much markings. Hope I’m wrong.
I think she could synergise with Pela pretty well actually. They are both Ice, the weakness toughness can be deplete faster and both workwell in suportting characters of the same type ( Ice ) or other.
i still don’t understand why people think Ruan mei will be great with ice characters, can you explain ?
1st. Breaking Toughness bar faster wich leads to her DMG bonnus to have more uptime
2nd. New Penacony set and Planetary Randezvous wich gives 10% and up to 24% +Ice DMG
but unless you use silver wolf this work only against ennemies weak to ice…
i think you’ll want to cover the most type as possible.
same for set and LC, seem like a waste to me, it’s not that great and there’s better options
idk maybe im wrong but Ruan Mei seem to have much more potential than that.
tbf that goes for every mono team though, if the content support mono ice then it should be more the ngood enough for the content without sw. but her with an sw will work rly well in mono ice teams, would break rly fast with as the other person said new 2p and planetary LC she will give out massive buffs that will basicaly be perma team buffs all without using a single skill then have a speed/break efficency buff on top of it
What the actual fuck is that E1? Girl is broken as fuck
Eidolon powercreep is real
her E1 seems more worth it than her Light cone.
Its double the effect of Loucha’s E1 with a better uptime.
no advanced forward….. ? hmm……. people will start to comparing her to bronya, she is first limited but since this is still DIRTY LEAKS i’m gonna wait until CLEAN
Wdym dirty leaks?
This isn’t “dirty leaks” this is the 1.6 beta, the only thing likely to change is numbers
And not every harmony is gonna have advance forward, Ruan Mei is powerful enough without it already
did you already forget Huohuo kit? back then she have 12 stacks & depleted each time ally turns, now she have 2 full turn. this is why the guy said dirty leaks. because I also have the same opinion. this is still dirty leaks not clean
Her kit still effectively did the same thing, in a slightly different (better) way, and they changed her eidolon 2 to be base kit
Same with Jingliu getting crit rate, does the same thing but better
There’s definitely a possibility for slight reworks but essentially this is what she’ll do
As far as “clean” goes, this is directly from the source, the 1.6 beta
You said you gonna wait, but here you already commented on it hahaha
No need to wait bro. No problem with everyone doing what they want here…
does wait mean “don’t allowed to comment” to you? people has right to comment anything here.
Not having advanced forward doesn’t mean that the support isn’t good, Tingyun’s an example of that.
And again, having like perma 30% bonus dmg buff is a big buff since you don’t get that much % bonus dmg buffs all the time, and that source of dmg boost is rare as hell, since you can’t get that stat from substats, so most of the time, the atk% and crit dmg% will always be higher than %dmg, which makes her passive already valuable. Ppl are likely to have Bronya but that doesn’t mean Ruan Mei’s weak either, as you can run her on the same comp or the other comp.
you compare TingYun 4 ⭐ to Bronya 5 ⭐? are you okay? did you hit your head?
Anta baka~?
I might be dumb but shes good with a DOT team right?
If the team breaks enemies, Ruan Mei is good in it
yes. I believe Ruan Mei benefits more for teams that uses more than 1 attacker (not that she is bad with only 1).
You get 30% damage bonus for all. You get 20% Res Pen for all. You get 16% spd for all. You get these for the 2(or 3 if you are brave) DoT units that you have.
Then, if you break. The character breaking will have stronger Break damage and DoT (from break) because of the 20% bonus break effect.
Enemy with broken weakness will also receive 24% more damage. And if you have Kafka, you will have more opportunities to trigger the Break DoT because of the extended duration of break and turn delay.
But isn’t Kafka’s ideal team going to be something like Kafka + DoT applier + Black Swan (Def shred) + Sustain?
I feel like Ruan Mei is going to benefit more for like you mentioned double/triple DPS comps…something like Dr Ratio + Topaz + Ruan Mei + Adventurine
Dr Ratio has his own 2 debuffs on skill and Ult
Topaz has 1 debuff at E0, a second debuff at E1, and a third debuff with her LC
Adventurine is so far leaked as Def% scaling Preservation that can also perform FUA, so he can use Trend of Universal Market LC to apply burn for a debuff, but also may get a signature LC that applies a debuff when enemies attack him
Though an E1S1 Topaz will already take care of 3 debuffs and Dr Ratio can do 2 more which would open up room for Ruan Mei + Huohuo + Topaz + Dr Ratio for a lot of teamwide buffs/healing and they’ll def be able to focus fire down an elite or boss enemy much faster than other carries
The Jing Liu + Blade comp is fine to run Ruan Mei in as well but Jing Liu is better off with Bronya/Pela/Huohuo
