Story

TitleText
n/aA Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection. A mysterious and elegant soothsayer.
She often wears a warm smile and is willing to patiently listen to the words of others, thus using such means as a pretext to enter "memories" and gain omniscience over certain matters.
A lady passionate about collecting unique memories, yet the thoughts that guide her are hard to glean.
n/a"She's quite an unusual kid, and I could sense it from the day she was born. It felt like nature itself was celebrating her arrival: The birds chirped, the moon and sun were together in the sky. The cards in my hand seemed to hint at the emergence of a soul steeped in nostalgia. Right from her early years, she had a fascination with stories from the past. She would delve deep into contemplating our origins, our creators, and even the very beginning of the world. Her questions would leave even the most erudite scholars scratching their heads. Sure, some other kids might poke fun at her for asking such deep questions, but aren't those questions important? Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions."
— A mother's memories

Afflicted with amnesia, her mother struggled with forgetfulness, making it difficult for her to recognize her family or recall recent events.
Clutching the diagnosis of amnesia, she held her mother tightly, attempting to read aloud from the latter's diary. Her mother was physically present, but where was she in the realm of consciousness?

She stayed by her mother's side until the end of her life, realizing that her mother had been fading away as her memories became fragmented. If her own memories of her mother were to ever become blurred as well, her mother would completely slip away from her.

"Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions." For the first time, she comprehended the profound meaning behind these words.
n/a"I arrived on this planet as an explorer. My usual tasks involved observing the flow of rivers, examining the materials of the city's bricks and tiles, analyzing the steepness of roads, and documenting the number and distribution of chimneys... These duties aligned with people's imagination of preserving a planet's 'memories.'"

— However, such efforts were far from sufficient.

Once I started working in secrecy, I would often come across that girl. Sometimes, sunlight would dance through the leaves as she walked beneath them, disappearing around corners once the street lamps illuminated the surroundings. On other occasions, her gaze would follow a carrier pigeon, which left the High Priest's quarters every Wednesday night, only to return the following morning to the palace's chief of the guards — a known political adversary of the High Priest. Occasionally, she would quietly observe rain trickling into sewers scarred by artillery fired from the opposite shore. And sometimes, waves would dampen her skirts, while an elderly woman washing clothes by the river recounted the story of the previous sovereign and his five illegitimate children.

— Few individuals, apart from us, understand that a planet conceals and safeguards its "memories" in such a manner.

I trailed behind her until we reached a rock on the moor. I knew that it was the time to invite her.

"What do you see?" I asked, in a form visible to her.
She pointed at a patch of weeds and the lingering traces.
"I see a stone, perhaps once part of a fireplace... But it must hold more significance."
I nodded and assisted her in removing the weeds and dirt from the crevices of the stone.
"It was once a monument," she murmured, gently caressing the engravings adorning its surface.
"Indeed, but the 'memory' holds more significance."

Thus, I revealed to her that the stone on the moor had once served as a fireplace, a monument before that, a flowerbed, and even an altar... And before all that, it had simply been a stone on the moor.

"What price would I pay if I want to witness those 'memories'?"
"People will remain oblivious to your presence unless you are willing to reveal yourself."
"Just as people fail to acknowledge the existence of black swans until they encounter one?"
"Yes, just like that."

— An {RUBY_B#Memokeeper}Explorer's{RUBY_E#} memories

Memokeepers travel to numerous planets, collecting the memories of each city they encounter. They are careful not to leave any trace of their presence, ensuring that nobody remembers them, unless they come across someone with the potential to become a Memokeeper, whom they then take away from the city into the vast expanse of the stars.
n/aMany individuals obsess over the glory of the past and aspire to become Memokeepers, longing to live within their memories. Such individuals often degenerate into unbridled Cremators, distorting memories to suit their preferences. However, she is different... I've sensed her unwavering determination and profound respect for memories themselves. Following tradition, I asked her three questions before making her a Memokeeper.

"Will you dedicate your whole life to the collection of memories?"
"I will."
"Will you relinquish your physical form and embrace the transformation of self?"
"I will."
"If one day you cease to exist, what legacy will you leave behind for the world?"
"My memories. They hold seeds from the past, destined for rebirth into the future."

Memories come in various forms. Some are trivial and heartwarming, while others are grand and expansive. Some are gentle and meek, while others are wild and untamed... When she became a Memokeeper, her memories became tranquil and serene, like the calm waves that finally found their destined harbor.

— A Memokeeper's memories

"What comes to your mind?" The Memokeeper asked.
As she opened her eyes, fragments of memories swirled around her.
"People tend to believe they are facing the present and the future, yet fail to realize that we are all, in fact, moving toward the past."
n/aLocation: Penacony
Date: ██/██/██
Guests: ██, ██, ██, and ██
"A sorrowful memory from ██. This opulent memory, adorned with ostentation and longing, conceals an unknown sadness that will linger for years, influencing its owner for an extended period."
"A joyous memory from ██. This dramatic memory is filled with vibrant hues of joy, confusion, and humor, but it can hardly be called true happiness. Such is the future it portrays."
"A regrettable memory from ██. The fleeting happiness in this memory is beautiful yet short-lived, like a shooting spark from faded ashes. Cherish your limited moment, dear guest, for it informs me that it shall soon vanish."
"A vague memory from ██. This memory is faint, chaotic, and disorienting, akin to an endless downpour with no respite in sight. I yearn to capture the future it points to, whether it be filled with rain or sunshine..."

— Black Swan's memories

"I saw the figure of a woman, gracefully leaping and transforming amidst images and patterns. No... I'm not crazy, I did indeed see 'her.' I remember her voice, its velvety texture, and the colorful cards in her hands, imbued with some sort of magic... Oh, and she invited me to partake in fortune-telling. She said, 'Whether you want to foresee happiness or misfortune in the future, retrieve lost possessions, or seek unexpected gains... All I need is an honest story, for the past and the future are overlapped on the same point of a single circle.' My head spun, and she exuded such gentleness. I talked so much to her, and she patiently listened to my ramblings... And then, following her divination results, I retrieved a lost mirror for a guest of the hotel! Oh, you asked what I said to her? Oh, nothing important... Just some rumors about the past..."
— A native Penacony resident's memories

Currently, she journeys through various realms as a diviner, uncovering memories intertwined with her Path and Aeons. She believes that those memories are as enduring as gems, impervious to the eroding forces of oblivion.

"Numerous Memokeepers have ventured to Penacony, only to discover it as a mere illusory mirage dancing upon the water's surface."
"However, dreams... They represent a distorted form of memories. I shall delve into its depths and catch a fleeting glimpse of the buried memories before those Memosnatchers and Cremators arrive."

  1. I plan to make this team :
    Kafka E0/Black Swan E0/Ruan Mei E0/Huohuo E0 – Luocha E0

What is the best light cone to go for between Kafka’s, Black Swan’s or Ruan Mei’s (at S1) ?
And what will be the best alternative for the other (I have Luocha lightcone) ?

    • i think her burst dot (12% DMG multiplier from Sarcament stack) can be activated / triggered with kafka skill & ult or with E4 sampo without waiting the enemy get turn, since her skill only says: “Only when turn Sacrament deals DMG at starts of an enemy target’s turn, Black Swan triggers additional effects based on the number of Sarcament stacks inflicted on the target: when having 3 or more stacks deal adjacent targets and when having 7 or more stacks ignore 20% DEF”, and her skill didn’t says her DMG multiplier include in there, so basically kafka and E4 sampo can activated / trigger her burst dot while can’t activated the bonus effects; damage adjacent target & ignore def effects.

      • What is the best Light Cone to go for between Kafka LC, Black Swan LC or Ruan Mei LC (in a team with Kafka/Black Swan/Ruan Mei/Huo Huo, all characters E0 and LC S1) please ?

        – The +24% DMG and the skill point on ult from Ruan Mei LC can be good (I think)
        – Kafka LC give her an other DoT but the speed boost can break her cycles
        – Black Swan LC in a team like this can only stacks 2 DoT type

        So I don’t really know :s.

    • Use Solitary Healing for Kafka, Eyes of the Prey or her signature LC for Black Swan, and Memories of the Past for Ruan Mei.
Solitary Healing can boost Kafka’s ER even higher when someone dies, which gets her more ults, more damage. The Effect Hit Rate bonus is good for Black Swan, but note that this is only the possibly best F2P utility – might want to roll for her own LC instead. Ruan Mei should work best with this team if she can provide 3-turn Ult, for which she needs either Meshing Cogs or Memories of the Past. As for Huo and/or Lolcha, doesn’t matter. Obviously Huo sig has some minor buff, but who really cares, it’s better if they can keep you alive. Lolcha on Perfect Moment should be the choice here, but Huo can work as well, especially with a good Speed and even more Energy from Shared Feeling.

  2. So it looks like I’m getting her (I love her Ult animation; it looks so cool). Who are her best teammates from all the characters we have so far, I guess, including the ones that will release along with her (Misha and Sparkle)? I understand Kafka is very good with her and is coming in the next banner, but who else is good? I am not getting Ruan Mei (I don’t like her personality).

    • Sampo, Gui, Luka, Serval, are good 4* DoT options. (hook is a weak fire DoT, but usable as a sub DPS [less preferd to tradtional DoT sub DPS], Gui prefered) (pick 2 options and a sustain to run with BS and let her DoT build)

for sustain Huohuo is more or less the only good option, as she actually buffs the DoT units, and both Kafka and Swan use their ults a lot, but Luocha and FX work fine. Bailu and Gepard also work. Nat and Lynx are good options, but again only huohuo really is a benefit other then keeping the team alive. (chose comfort here, Luocha has 0 SP usage so he is probably 2nd best so you can spam skills with BS and Kaf)

if it’s only dual DoT with Kafka then her S1 (Patience Is All You Need) LC will help to maximize both of their damage, as the addtional DoT will allow Kafka to max out Stacks per turn without the need for a break or 3rd DoT unit.

      in the dual DoT format:
      – Asta is good and her BA has a low chance to cause burn which would mean you don’t need S1 patience (it still helps), and her Atk buff is great and both Kafka and BS want as much turn advantage as possible to front / back load more damage. (also helps Gui get a 2nd burn she wants)
      – Tingyun being an ST buffer is a hard choice between Kafka and Black swan, as both really want energy and Atk buff (BS needs to build EHR so her lower Atk stat being supplamented is a good call),
      – Pela does Pela things, and stacking Def shread is always good (unless you hit 100%),
      – Bronya has similar issues to Ting having to choose between 2 really good options,
      – Hanya for SP support isn’t needed, and her ST speed is again gonna be wanted by both carries
      – Yukong if you are E6 (or speed turn crazy) might be a real good sleeper pick with her skill buff only having 2 stacks, getting her to be infront of both BS and Kafka should work well / but for max benefits you need yukong to have bow string up for the enemy turn I believe.
      – SW does SW things, not needed as DoT tends to brute force damage anyways, but doesn’t hurt.

      • Sparkle is like Bronya, so more selection issues, she also like Bronya buffs a lot of CR/CD which DoT units don’t use or need.
her extra SP is mostly used on her, but her Damage buff if played properly is 48% damage buff which applies to DoTs. (and accelerates your DoT detonations and/or Sacrament stacks)
if you do spring for sparkle, her 12% speed E1 will really help out.
but sparkle personally is looking to want to be run in mono quant with her A6 trace

      • Addendum 2:
if you are running dual DoT (not Kafka):
        then important notes,
        – Sampo needs E4 to enable Black Swan’s A4 trace, to stack Sacrament (her DoT) on his turn (E4 to turn on stacking, but if lucky can cap stacks 3 times on the elite and twice on something else)
        – Luka needs E6 to get more then 1 stack (Stacks on Enhanced basic attack, once by default 3 times at E6)
        – Gui should be run with Asta, Hook, or Himeko as she only Detonates DoTs on ult, she will stack less consistently (and more slowly, but needs no Eidolons).

    • Being completely honest with you, running more than 2 dot characters are not very wise desicions because Kafka’s mech requires all dots to be damaging, which means you need to get all characters very good stats with atk and spd. I know you do not like RM but her tool is very helpful to dot team with all ele res pen and all dmg increase especially with dot team usually having multiple elements in the team. Dot only cares about atk, dmg, pen, def. So I would still suggest to run Kafka, BS, Huohuo, and RM. Without RM the best you can use would be Asta which can grant you speed and atk that allows you to get more BS stacks and Kafka skills. However, potentially, you may run into points issues with that.

        • If sacrament is only counted as wind shear during her burst would Kafka trigger it out of BS’s burst? cause one of the lightning DoT’s Kafka can make is called erosion and its still triggered, is it counted as shock just with a different name?

          • Kafka Skill and Ult, as well as most SU Nihlity buffs, use the wording, “all DoTs” (in the generic), and not specifying “Wind Shear, Burn, Shock, Bleed”,

            – The reason why Erode (from her Signature LC) has the line that counts it as shock, is probbably so that it works without Kafka’s A2 trace which causes Ult to detonate “all currently applied DoT sources”, which used to be an Eidolon instead.

If BS doesn’t work with Kafka she won’t work with Nihility in SU, which would be wierd.

BS ult line is meant to allow Sampo, Luka, Guin to utilize her damage.

    • yes, sure there is room for interpretation but it sounds like the 240% + the 12% stacks are supported by kafkas skill and ultimate only empiphany, the 3 stack and 7 stack effect are not (because they only apply on the start of the enemy turn) and seeing some beta footage with both chars even confirms this. she is basically 2x sampo with def reduction on top of that and 4 different dot statuses what is beneficial in SU and how is she kafka 2.0? kafkas damage depends on other chars damage and could be considered as damage support and black swan is just pure damage.

  6. okay, important and somehow stupid question

Epiphany make sacrament count as sacramant, bleed, burn, shock adn WS.

does this mean that if i use kafka skill or ult on a target with sacrament and epiphany, it deal the dmg from sacrament 5 times?

Since I only have Sampo as wind dealer, it’s quite difficult if the enemy mainly has a wind weakness in MOC

    • RM will provide better surviability to the team, and while you can say she has a bit of an anti synergy with Black Swan, I’d still say having her is probably better then not. Kafka S1 will provide 2 DoTs, and with BS A4 passive will stack 3 on each skill and Ult. Sampo can apply 3 stacks on skill, and Luka can apply 3 stacks on Enhanced basic attack, Gui unless the enemy is Ulted and has fire break only adds 1 per ultimate. and all 3 only add 1 before enemey turn

To explain the semi anti synergy, Black swan wants as much time between enemy turns as possible to allow for more allied turns to stack more Detonations, RM’s Rebloom effect (break recovery block) has an action delay effect, so unless RM has like 500% BE (20% of 500% is 100% action delay) you’re better off taking the enemy hit and full stacking again (the break point is probably effectivly much lower, as your team should already be advanced in the action order), this mostly comes up when BS Ults and applies Ephifany, as you don’t want to waste the full stack.

    • Kafka can give extra stacks, but they dont reset
Sacrament stacks only reset after the enemy’s turn starts and they take damage
The only reason Kafka can do this is because of Black Swan’s A4 tho, enemies that take DOT from single target attacks recieve extra stacks, so Luka’s enhanced normal attack, Sampo’s E4, Guinaifen ult and Kafka should give extra stacks

      • Doesn’t the talent first line say that there is a chance everytime they take DoT damage to gain on stack of sacrament?

would that make so kafka skill and ult add a stack per debuff twice? once from BS talent and one from A4?

        • The first line specifies “an enemey target recieves DoT damage at the start of each turn”, so only A4 allows out of turn detonations to stack, and they capped it at 3 for a reason. if you get 7 Dots on the target and Kafka Detonates she adds 3, (at like 120% EHR), but enemy turn start does not have a cap so can stack all 7 DoTs seperately. I’m unsure if her BA and Skill have no limit, or is limited to 5 (1 base + 1 per break DoT type), that is a bit unclear.

      • I’m no theorycrafter but at a glance, her eidolons look nice but she’s gonna be incredibly strong at E0. But getting a new character will have way more value for your account and that is the case 99% of the time (see DHIL and Raiden E2/C2 for exceptions). RM is insanely good as well. She might have a little anti-synergy with debuffers like BS, causing their debuffs to tick down faster but together they still might be the strongest Kafka team. Also RM can easily be slotted in many other teams whereas BS eidolons will only boost your Kafka team.

I will say though, unless you really want/need RM now, you could wait until the last few days of her banner. By then, BS will be in her final phase and we’ll be able to see if she’ll undergo any changes before her actual raunch

    • “While afflicted with Sacrament, enemy targets recieve Wind DoT equal to x% of Black Swan’s ATK”.

It seems like it’s a non Wind Shear Wind DoT, so Eyes of the Prey will work, but Fermata won’t work (Until Ult is used).

something like the Nihility/Hunt Interplay won’t count Sacrament, since it specifies Wind Shear, but Funeral of Sensory Pursuivant should apply Suspicion from Sacrament

      Shouldn’t work:
      Funeral of Sensory Pursuivant

Litteraly everything else doesn’t care about DoTs or mentions DoT in the generic sense, and not Burn Wind Shear Shock Bleed.

if its a DoT that Kafka can detonate then it’s ridiculously good, if it’s a DoT but Kafka can’t detonate it then it’s okay, if it’s not a DoT at all then idk

Initially, sacrament is a Wind DoT, but when she use Ult, the sacrament will be considered as shock, bleed, burn, and shear? So, this will proc her LC passive? (4 stacks)

Also how do u guys rate her LC? I just lost 75/25 on Ruan’s LC banner to Himeko’s LC. I might consider getting it if it’s any good

        • Yes Sacrament is a DoT as it specifies it in the tool tip (currently) Kafka will be able to detonate it because her Skill and Ultimate detonates all DoTs indiscriminately. Meaning it doesn’t have to be a “wind shear”, “burn”, “bleed” or “shock” kinda like how her LC is a DoT but not specifically a “shock” DoT.

          • TBH I thought erode was specified as a shock DoT, also thanks I reread her talent and it does specify sacrament is a wind DoT
So theoretically Kafka could detonate a stacked up sacrament multiple times if she’s fast enough? because if so that’s amazing considering the multiplier sacrament has, since I’d assume stacks only reset to 1 when the enemy naturally takes DoT
Unfortunately it does specify the additional effects ONLY happen on an enemy turn tho, so no repeated blast DoT

    • So far I watched some showcase video on CN server, her whole synergy with Kafka is… weird.
Sacrament is a special DOT dmg, it can detonate by Kafka but that 3/7 sacrament stacks effects doesn’t benefit Kafka (no ignore DEF for Kafka). And the stacks will be gone as soon as the enemy take turn.
Her ultimate that make enemy takes 30% more dmg also can’t benefit Kafka, since it only trigger when it’s enemy’s turn.
Basically the buff/debuff that Kafka can benefit from BS is the reduce DEF on her skill.
Meanwhile Kafka can stacks sacrament and trigger BS base DOT dmg, that’s it.

Kafka and BS team is more like, they benefit each other just a little bit, but most of the time they’re fighting on their own. So far theorycrafter saying BS own dmg is not good enough, plus she need a lot of EHR too. U can’t say they’re not synergistic, but u also can’t say they’re a very huge upgrade on existing Kafka DOT team as people imagine.
