只有一个员工的快餐店,用地下室改装的街机厅,几台陈旧的游戏机,这就是她的童年。 
 
她没有合法的名字,没有身份编号,只有女主人给她取的昵称。 
她也没有朋友,但她并不孤单。 
她喜欢《波恩》:两条横线,一个光点,最简单的击球游戏,她能玩上一整天。 
她喜欢《战轮32》:点阵绘成的星空中,八个迥异的色块,规则只有一条——成为第一,不论方法。 
她喜欢《几何战争》,喜欢《奥德修斯》,喜欢《星际猎豹》:这些游戏的得分记录上,满是顾客们留下的天文数字。 
 
她玩着摇杆,日复一日。 
直到有一天,所有的记录上只剩下一个人的名字。 
 
于是她放下摇杆,回头望向空空荡荡的地下室。 
在这里歇息的人很多,但留下来的却很少。 
从这里离开的人很多,但再回来的却很少。 
她眨眨眼,关掉了屏幕。 
 
那晚,快餐店唯一的员工和女主人告别,成为了下一个离开的人。 
名为「地下室」的游戏,在这一天结束了。

在朋克洛德,人们从来都是搭伙做事,独行的人,大多混不下去。

没有办法,她只能给自己造些虚拟的同伴。
第一个人叫「朋友」,理所当然,它就该叫这名字。
第二个人叫「魔王」,源自她在街头看见的海报,在她的想象中,它是一位失语的军人。
她忽然觉得这个团队有些和睦,缺乏一点真实,便给第三个人取名「打工仔」,给第四个人取名「奴隶」。
最后一个人叫「幼儿园同学」——没什么原因,她实在是创意枯竭了。犹豫再三后,她干脆从名单上划掉了这个人。
她把这些「同伴」存储在一把智能武器里,这样她就能在中间人面前,煞有介事地介绍自己庞大的团队。

她得到了第一份工作,如愿以偿——它的风险同报酬一样难以想象。
或许她的包装太过真实,令人信以为真;又或许他们只是想看看这位新人的表演,无论是死是活。

但她还要抬起头,往更高的地方看去,她看见星空就在那里,近在咫尺,又遥不可及。

粉色的灯光洒落在屏幕上,像是城市里的霓虹,让她想起那一夜看见的星空。 
她不是第一个登上那座大厦顶端的人,也不是第一个眺望那片星空的人。 
她知道「零号」的故事,网络战争年代最伟大的骇客、最可怕的玩家,他引起了第一次全球网络瘫痪,只为将星际和平公司的押送船叫来自家门口。 
她又想起「先哲」,以太编辑技术的创造者,以死者为自己命名的怪人。为了离开星球,他甘愿抛弃肉身,攻入黑域,成为一个在星际互联网络中永远徘徊的幽灵。 
她想起「石剑」,废品山的骄傲,他反抗绿洲区的故事在大荒野家喻户晓,有人说他最后追随巡海游侠而去,在银河中继续挥洒叛逆的火花。 
还有他的挚爱「孪蛇」,绿洲区的红人。她的去向众说纷纭,人们只知出身没能阻止她和石剑走到一起,银河却让他们最终分道扬镳。 
 
在朋克洛德,所有被称作「传奇」的骇客都走向了同一个终点。 
而身为如今的传奇,她知道自己也已来到那扇门前。 
 
哒、哒…她听见头顶传来脚步声,逐渐靠近、靠近……

  1. And reality once again teaches us the difference between theorycrafting and doomposting.

    So, to debunk some of the misconceptions that used to float around prior to her release:

    Weakness implantation RNG:
    – Both weaknesses and bugs are implanted smartly, limited to types enemies don’t already have.
    – If multiple weaknesses can be implanted, the odds are evenly split between them, making type coverage more important than type quantity.
    – She does not need a mono team to function. As long as your team’s types overlap with enemy weaknesses, you can mitigate RNG. And because most enemies come with 3 weaknesses by default, building many different teams around Silver Wolf’s mechanics isn’t difficult even with the limited roster we have at the moment.
    – Thanks to the above, players with limited budgets have the option of investing less into future damage-dealers and more into support and sustain. Low-spending and f2p players benefit the most from the flexibility she provides, so they should lay off the copium and face the reality that they will never have perfect type coverage without her.

    Despite all the Nerfs…:
    – Literally the strongest support in the game already, and she’s not even shilled in MoC yet.
    – At higher Eidolons, capable of putting out more damage than dedicated damage dealers.
    – The wording of her talent is confusing, but in practice, bugs are easy to apply and refresh, and they apply smartly, so any 3 triggers will always result in 3 different bugs.

    Nihility vs Abundance:
    – Thanks to patch 1.1 reducing enemy Effect RES across the board, the EHR requirements for Nihility and other status-inflicting characters have been lowered.
    – Assumptions regarding MoC difficulty based on doing the content while underleveled favored survivability over damage, but as players are beginning to catch up to MoC bosses in terms of levels, traces, gear and stats, more and more team comps become viable. Specifically, aggressively breaking enemy weaknesses with crowd-controlling statuses is now a more viable playstyle, and Silver Wolf is perfectly suited for it.

  2. For those that don’t know. Her E2 is currently bugged in that it does not effect enemies past round 1 or bosses past phase 1. It will be fixed.

    Another thing about E2 is that it counts as a perma debuff and counts towards the debuff boosts from her 5* LC, E1, E4 and E6. It allows you to always get 5 debuffs not counting the ultimate debuff even if you cannot apply weakness since E2, 3x bug and res decrease. Unknown if 3rd trace passive counts as it’s own debuff or if it’s applied on top of the 10% from skill.

    SW can have 4 to 6 debuffs applied after a single skill with everything, allowing you to Ult right after using it to gain max benefit from her LC and her Eidolons right at the start of the battle. If her 3rd trace does count as it’s own debuff, then it’s 5 to 7. 7 being if you get a second bug off on the same attack due to weakness break. 1x E2 debuff, 2x bug, 2x res weakness, 1x applied weakness and finally 1x entangled.

  3. I don’t like her character in game, so easy skip.
    Is her skillset amazing? Yup.
    Is her personality fun? Yup.
    But she is wearing too skimpy clothes, I hate it. I can literally almost see her butt creak.

        I’m glad she’s an easy skip for me tbh. Need more characters like that in game because Jing Yuan/Luocha/Blade + Kafka/ Dan Hengil all combined are killing me 😡 Want them all.

  4. Alright, some quick things that could change things up for SW skill specifically. (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/13vwzc7/theorycrafting_silver_wolf_by_testing_intro_trial/?sort=new)
    In short, Silver Wolf Skill always implants a NEW weakness and it doesn’t differentiate between innate weakness and implanted weakness.
    In my opinion, this two details are huge for silver wolf, because they lessen her skill RNG to the point of having almost none at all.

    1.- Always applies new weakness: This means that if an enemy is already weak to some of your allies, IT WON’T CHOOSE THEIR ELEMENT WHEN IMPLANTING WEAKNESS. Example: If you have 3 Fire characters and 1 Quantum (SW) but the enemy is already quantum, then SW’s skill will always choose Fire as its weakness implant.

    2.- No differentiation between Innate and implanted weakness: This is equally huge, in the case that SW’s skill chooses the wrong element, the skill will always plants a new element, Example: Same as before 3 Fire characters, 1 Quantum (SW) but with an enemy that is not weak to neither Quantum or Fire. If the skill chooses quantum, THE NEXT SKILL WILL GUARANTEE A FIRE WEAKNESS BECAUSE IT WILL ALWAYS IMPLANT A WEAKNESS THAT IT DOESN’T HAVE.

    If you play your cards well with SW’s teams you can have 0% RNG on her skill, even with multiple elements on your team.
    Keep in mind this could be wrong since the testing is done on tutorial + SU but so far i believe it since these mechanics are practically already code in-game.

    • Thank you for pointing that out. I see too many people parroting mono team without too much thought, but she opens up so many more possibilities. Let’s hope that wasn’t changed when she comes out.

      • She still works best in a mono team. No matter what you can spam her skill which can cause 2 debuffs since it hits twice, and does 2x more damage over a basic attack. So not only is her damage better, but it will also guarantee that an enemy is weak to every member of your team.

        • But the characters within the same element are not necessarily synergistic. I.E. the ice destruction woman who damages her own teammates and shuts down Yanqing. Yeah, you don’t wanna use them in the same team anyway, but Hoyo themselves are not concerned with in-element synergy enough to justify running mono this and mono that. Besides, a mono team doesn’t need Silver Wolf anyway, if you don’t wanna force it into content that it isn’t supposed to go up against. The beauty of teambuilding is synergizing character kits, not matching colors within the party.

    • This actually sounds kinda annoying at the same time though, as if you pair SW up with Seele, but you’re facing a foe already weak to Quantum but not to whatever other two elements are on your team (say, Phys and Elec, if you were running Tingyun and Natasha), you will NEVER apply the Quantum RES shred to them, it’ll just bounce between those two weaknesses since you can only apply one weakness at a time. Sure, you’ll still be getting every other benefit SW can offer, but it’s still disappointing in regards to maximising damage as it will become an issue against basically any targets who are already weak to your main DPS’s element, at least until we have enough characters to form competent teams without having to spread out our elements i.e. mono or duo element team comps.

      • You just described a scenario where you WOULD NOT want to use Silverwolf.

        Here is a scenario where you WOULD want to use SW: Ennemy is weak to Phys and Elec but not Quantum. You already have Seele, Natasha and Tingyun. Slot SW and enjoy.

        Is it a mono team? NO Does it work? hell yeah.

        The more I think about it, the more I realise that SW is a really bad pull for people who don’t like to solve puzzles. If you’re smart and witty though, she’s a perfect pull.

        • Well, you kinda would, since the weakness application is not her whole thing, she also provides massive debuffs to the enemy. She’s strong even without it, and can be be the second Seele support (alongside the obvious Bronya). Seele gets Harem-ed by Bronyas, and I don’t think she minds that at all.

      • Why wouldn’t you want to use SW in an already quantum weak enemy? (assuming you have Seele)
        SW still a good support, don’t know why you are trying to min-max her potential when most characters don’t even work on many situations while SW makes to situations possible in the first place.
        The only situation where SW is suboptimal is when the enemy counters your team very hard (Cocolia against Ice per example) but even then your DPS could by pass that if its very strong and doesn’t mind being on -40% DMG RES but still prefers having weakness implant.
        You also have to consider that there are TWO teams on MoC, your other team will most likely benefit from SW and there’s a high chance of you not having Bronya because it has even worse odds than getting Bailu/Gepard for obvious reasons.

        • You also have to realize that SW is a very good damage dealer herself. If you build her for DPS she’s literally on par with The Hunt chars, not Seele level but around 75% of her DPS in total which is still very impressive for someone that also gives as many debuffs as she does.

          If an enemy is already weak to your main DPS and sub DPS then it’s already an easy fight and it’s not reliant on SW applying weakness. At that point she simply becomes a stronger but solo target Pela which is still, very very good.

          SW either makes hard fights easy, or already easy fights easier. Either way there is no reason NOT to use her.

          • This is kinda true but it requires to have 2 sets for her. Or at the very least EHR and Crit chest pieces to swap.
            Her DPS is not crazy because she does not have any self-buffs in her hit like all meta hunt characters.

          • You need insane pieces in order to run her DPS with somewhat reliable debuffs. High-level elites and bosses have a lot of effect res, so you need a decent amount of EHR to proc the def shred and weakness application somewhat consistently. Which means either having either an EHR body piece (which basically rids you of a big chunk of crit stats for your “DPS” build), sacrifice EHR for crit, which is NOT a good idea with such strong debuffing utility, or trying to compensate with substats, which is pain. If you try to build true dps-ehr hybrid, you’ll want like 6 different substats that compete with each other. It’s just better to run her as an EHR-break hybrid instead. You need only EHR, break effect and speed as your stats, with every other stat being nice to have, but not necessary per see

            This is not true. At E2 you only need 50% EHR. You can run the full DPS set up very easily.

    • Just replying to comment you are wrong about number 2. In the current iteration and trails for SW she implanted quantum TWICE in a row. So she is definitely RNG and you CANNOT manipulate it… Just wanted to update just incase anyone catches the replies…

      • Yeah just a shame it didn’t turn out like the tests, number 1 still applies and is probably the best you can manipulate RNG.
        If you bring her to non-quantum teams, you use her against quantum weak enemies
        If you bring her to quantum teams, you either go 4 quantum characters, or use characters that the enemy is already weak to (with the exception of your quantum dps of course)
        Or just bring her whenever, her DEF Shred still good and has better uptime than Pela, and with the recent nerfs to effect res on enemies she can also bring a little bit of damage to the team.

    Jokes aside, why DOES she have a trace that does barely anything (3% extra res shred) and have it be conditional too? Unless its 3% per debuff, this is by far the worst trace in the game bar none. Hope it gets changed or this was mistranslated and it meant 3% per debuff because this is practically useless.

    • It’s easy to get her effect rate to 100% at E2 with 68% effect hit rate. Where is the gamble? Mono type or close to mono type also gets rid of the weakness apply randomness.

        • It’s not 20% more effect hit rate. It reduces enemy effect resistance by 20%. At worst it’s more of a 50% effect hit rate boost because it lowers the opponents ability to resist and lowers the amount of effect hit rate you need by a very large amount. FOR the ENTIRE team, not just herself.

        • e2 reduces enemy effect res, her light cone increases her effect hit rate. They are different.

          For example

          100% effect hit rate. 50% enemy effect res.
          You get 50% chance to inflict the effect.

          Light cone.
          124% chance. 50% enemy effect res
          You get 62% chance to inflict the effect.

          With E2
          100% chance. 30% (-20%) effect res
          You get 70% chance to inflict the effect.

  7. All in one debuffer. Looks great on paper, looks awful in practical uses.

    People overhyping her weakness implant capabilities for brute forcing any content with mono element comps, when some enemies has higher RES for a certain element. Sure, you can break Cocolia with Mono Ice with SW, but she has 40% Ice RES in the first place, using weakness implant isn’t as great as than just using a Fire breaker like Asta or FMC.

    Also, I’m 100% sure that Hoyo will adds more enemies with high element RES, high effect RES, or releasing more mono comps focused buff/debuffer (we already has Asta for fire and Pela E4 for Ice) or more broken universal buffer/debuffer like Bronya.

    Not to mention about her RnG kit if you’re not using mono quantum, and trust me, RnG kit are sucks (learned from JY RnG targetting).

    • Can’t forget that she’s also a DPS in damage herself along with all the debuffs she offers. She lowers res by 33% as well so even if an enemy does have 40% it barely matters.

    • All your scenarios would only make sense if you only had one team, but in end game content, there’s two sides, so even if you don’t have a SW you are forced to not use a suboptimal team even if its your stronger one.
      The difference with SW is that you by pass the need of building another elemental team or it allows you to use a much stronger DPS like Seele.
      As for her “RNG on skill”, at worst, you had to reset if she fails her skill which imo, is way better than building a complete different team or waste important resources like Jades.
